Breguet 941 - McDonnell 188 STOL

The McDonnell 188 was a French four-engine turboprop STOL (Short Take Off Landing) transport aircraft known as the Breguet 941. Built in the 1960s, there were only 4 made and introduced into service by 1967. The early 940 model first flew in 1959. For licensing purposes in the United States, two 188’s were adored in Eastern and American airlines liveries and demonstration flights were made in the Eastern aircraft. No orders were placed and thus it retired in 1974 –
