Eastern, The Official Airline of Walt Disney World

Eastern Air Lines was the official airline of Walt Disney World since it’s opening in October of 1971. They also sponsored an Eastern themed ride titled, “If You Had Wings”, located in Tomorrowland where Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger is currently located today. Eastern remained the official sponsor until 1989 when Delta took over as the official airline.  They also rebranded the ride which was an apparent flop and soon closed. Through the years Eastern ran countless print, television and radio advertisement campaigns with firms like, Young & Rubicam, and featured great talents and voices such as, Orson Welles and of course, Disney characters.
