Jet Roar - Commercial Airplane Noise at Boston Logan & Sea-Tac 1976

After countless complaints and lawsuits over noise pollution through the jet-age, the Noise Pollution and Abatement Act was passed in 1972. The FAA then created a program to cut noise pollution that began in 1981 and included changes in operational procedures such as take-offs and landings or routine fly overs and were now less noisy in sensitive areas.

This is not the same as the Noise Abatement Program established in 1967 by the NBAA which, at the time, was adopted by many airports in the United States including Minneapolis–Saint Paul Airport.
