MGM Grand became popular with Business travelers and Celebrities, but, by 1994, business jets like the Cessna Citation and the new Gulfstream IV took the Air out of MGM Grand. The airline was purchased by a company that renamed it to Champion Air— trying to create a permanent charter for sports teams, but, they eventually folded and sold to Northwest Airlines.
