Overseas National Airways (ONA)

Overseas National Airways (ONA) was a supplemental carrier founded in 1950, headquartered in New York City, operating passenger and freight flights on a charter basis. (Cont)

Much of ONA’s business were trans-Atlantic troop charters from bases on the Eastern Seaboard to facilities in Europe, as well as leisure flights to the Caribbean. The airline lasted until 1978, when the board of directors elected to liquidate the carrier prior to the passage of the Airline Deregulation Act — Stephan J. Cox
