Sponsored Airliner Branding

From the 1990s these three bold sponsored airliners were made into fantastic painted liveries. The Air France Concorde was painted in the Pepsi scheme for two weeks during a special promotion.

Concorde SST (F-BTSD) call-sign, “Sierra Delta”. As part of a promotional advertising program in 1996, the Pepsi Cola Company collaborated with Air France to paint a Concorde in this unusual livery. Since the dark blue fuselage did not reflect heat effectively (wings with fuel cells remained white), SST “Sierra Delta” was limited to 20-minutes at Mach 2.02 but, sustained Mach 1.7 with no issues. The Air France SST successfully operated 16 flights during the two-week promotion — Erik Simonsen
